Obsession Portraits

Project title: Obsession

'Follow your most intense obsession mercilessly'

Franz Kafka

This image-making project began with the exploration of the term obsession. This series of portraits attempts to visually interpret Franz Kafka's quote by looking at the positive aspect of an obsession. The project portrays individuals becoming one with their obsession.
15 individuals were directed/photographed and their different obsessions analysed. All the images developed from the sketching out of different ideas and an open one to one conversation. The result of which was to allow the subjects to become their obsession.
